Here are some search tips as well as links to excellent search engines. Enjoy!
When searching the web for information, please be specific. If you only write only one word, your search will be too large. To reduce the number of responses, here are some tips.
- Single-click inside of the white rectangular area so your blinking cursor appears.
- Type in your search word or statement.
- If you type in a keyword that is a single word only, then click on the button "Search". Note that this search would give you many results.
- If you
type in more than one word to narrow your search, use the
asterisk (*) for words that could have different endings.
- Ex. book, books, bookmark = book* (gives you all the possible endings)
- Use the plus sign (+) to add a word or minus word (-) to remove a word. By using the plus sign, you are asking for both words to appear in the search.
- Be patient as searches take a long time.
- If searching for bears, you can try for example +bears+activit* or +grizzly+bear*.
